According to Meta announcement, over 400 apps are stealing Facebook and Instagram login information by showing fake features in the app. Check the following statement declared by Meta.

“Our security researchers have found more than 400 malicious Android and iOS apps this year that were designed to steal Facebook login information and compromise people’s accounts. These apps were listed on the Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store and disguised as photo editors, games, VPN services, business apps and other utilities to trick people into downloading them.”

The app’s developer can access user login credentials including payment information and other private information. Now Meta reported to Google and Apple to remove those apps and take legal actions. Most of the malicious apps are pretended as photo editing apps, business utilities, etc.
